Inspirational, lyrical verse…

You take away the air we breathe and

suffocate our souls, lost in waiting

the promise of recovery godforsaken

‘stay at home’ our essential saviour

distancing and isolation, darkness in time

empty streets and sidewalks hauntingly

an eerie silence of restitution

our mask a resistant defender

Fear of the unknown looming heavy

global mapping of viral destruction

eyes tearing in disaffection for a

world passing us by so uncontrollably

isolation confining, we wonder why

why our heartache eats us up inside

our loved ones in passing desperately

fought for living yet lived to die

~

Live and love for all tomorrows as

tremors in a heart so passionately

touching one another, no refrain

a song in our souls forever searching

for the answers that fail to resound

we long for meaning and to live again

reach out in virtual holding of hands

let us forever blessed be

~

one and together, overcome as one

the pain in sadness, a smile yet to come

let it be as it will, then set it free

~

For you and I, there is purpose yet to be

we are together, as you, and as for me

global mapping of distempered overflow

tiny circles of red, pink and blue are

secretive demons invisible to see

yet they lurk and they languish as a

silent killer, oh no, we have to believe

~

For we are resilient, yes, and our

lives filled with purpose, we were meant to be

together as one, not in silence waiting

standing alone, in distancing we are

vigilant forces, set the demon free

in its silence, retribution is

ever so sweet, yes, set the killer free

from our heart and soul, a pathless vagrant

saving harmless you and me…

Stay at home, safe and distant, ever well

we must be, and smile in self-assurance

for a vigil meant to be

wrap your arms around each other as

awaiting better days ahead for

living and loving shall set us free
