On the writing of the Forward to Ernie Cefalu’s upcoming book publication…
Ernie Cefalu, Owner and Senior Creative Director of Pacific Eye & Ear and also Hornbook Ink of Los Angeles, California is poised to publish a treasured book containing visuals of many of the most highly memorable album cover artworks ever created in collaboration with world-renowned Drew Struzan, one of the premiere illustrative artists of our time who will be remembered long into the future for his remarkable artistic renderings of album covers with Ernie Cefalu and later stunning and treasured blockbuster movie posters produced for his two primary clients, Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas through Drew Struzan’s own company.
It is a distinct honour and pleasure that I was asked to write the Forward to this treasure trove illustrated book of famed album cover art by these two leaders in their industry. The book, ‘Drew Struzan, The Early Years 1972-1975‘ is nearing publication launch very soon! I will add this remarkable book to my own personal library as a cherished work that I was fortunate to have contributed to through the Forward, its writing an emotional and inspired experience I will never forget. I have dedicated three pages of this website to Ernie Cefalu and his iconic achievements with his team of acclaimed illustrative artists. In addition to some 230 album cover and logo designs for some of the most iconic performing artists worldwide Ernie Cefalu has worked as a Senior Creative Director for some of the most highly recognizable corporate giants and advertising agencies across North America. A background on this creative master of the illustrative arts is found on Wikipedia while Rock Pop Gallery has run featured articles on Ernie Cefalu’s historic design of the famed red lips and tongue logo for none other than The Rolling Stones.
